Romans 12:18-19

“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. / Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

One of the major goals that we should have is to live in peace.  Our human nature allows for us to have a resounding choice in how we choose to live.  We are the ones who choose what is important to us.  Here we are told that as long as it is possible, we should have peace be at the top of the list. This Day in Romans: 11 July 2016

Romans 11:16 – “Through Him”

“For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.”

The Bible references having our focus stayed on Jesus and continuing to renew our mind on the things of, and the will of, God frequently throughout Scripture.  This is because there are so many distractions in front of, behind, and to each side of us.  It is all too easy to become enamored, distracted, and drawn away from God, who is the very source of our enablement in all things.
