Me and My House (Joshua 24:15)

Sitting in my chair (justa rick arockin’).
Clock high on the wall (justa tick atockin’).
I’m waitin’ for linemen on the tv to start ablockin’,
I see the birds out the window ready to start aflockin’.

My heart tick tocks to a different rhythm,
to the waves of the invisible part of the schism;
divided solely by what we see and what we believe,
an argument between the collapsing atom and the created Adam (and Eve).

But there’s no debate, and that I wear boldly on my sleeve.
There are only concoctions of the air aimed to deceive,
spreading fallacies that we need not believe and receive,
but instead in our own might we need to work and retrieve…

…power… and might… and honor… and wealth.
All of which are subordinate to our spiritual health.

But as for me and my house… but as for me and my house…
My house and I will verify that He is our source,
the navigator of the proper course,
for victory beyond the coffin’s hearse.

So as I sit in this chair and dress rehearse, I proclaim that His love has lifted the curse.

A curse that we willingly put back on
despite the fact that the blood of His Son…
the life of the Lamb…
saved us all from being damned.

Iniquity and sin? Between both we were crammed.
There was no escape, should’ve outlined our bodies with tape.
It was over. It was done. A body bag? Yes, another one.
But His Son, yes, His Son, on the course did run.

Against the tick of the clock, while all we could do was sit and watch.
He did it all, and even more; He sent the Holy Spirit to improve our score.
…so that with the eagles we could soar…
in the air of the dark powers who try to make us ignore…

But as for me and my house… but as for me and my house…
My house and I will verify that He is our source,
the navigator of the proper course,
for victory beyond the coffin’s hearse.

So as I sit in this chair and dress rehearse, I proclaim that His love has lifted the curse.

Poverty, shame, sin, and immorality
were all traded in for peaceful immortality.
Not simply a piece of a virtual reality
but the peace of the Son, without partiality.

Anyone who jumps from their stagnant rocking chair,
listening to the urgent tick tocking within the air,
daring to stand firm and declare
that all of our sins, the blood of the Savior, did bear.

As for me and my house… as for me and my house…
My house and I will verify that He is our source,
the navigator of the proper course,
for victory beyond the coffin’s hearse.

So as I stand from this chair and dress rehearse, I proclaim that His love has lifted the curse.
