This Day in Proverbs: 21 May 2016

Proverbs 21:23

“Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.”

Here is one of our many friendly reminders throughout Scripture that we have to be mindful of what we say.  Whatever we allow to come out of our lips is a reflection of what is in our heart.  We should continually ask ourselves if our words clearly reflect the Holy Spirit dwelling within us or if they act as a smudged mirror, making it difficult to discern if they Holy Spirit dwells with us or not.

Speaking hastily, out of anger, or without knowledge potentially sets future obstacles in motion, helping to bring to fruition.  Continue to seek God and His heart, leaning on His perspective so that we can stand firm in those times of trouble, all the while blessing His name.
