This Day in Proverbs: 18 May 2016

Proverbs 18:21

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit thereof [for death or life].”

How mighty are our words? How much weight do they hold and how much influence do they have? Monumental.

Think of how those things that we ask within His will are given, and how we are to declare things that are not as though they were.  The ship is controlled by the steering wheel, the horse by the bit in its mouth, and so too are our lives shaped in the same manner as our words.

So what are we saying. What things are we speaking into existence? What things are we allowing to happen while we remain silent?

Surely our faith is in the blood of Jesus Christ and He’s bridged the gap between us and Father. We are able to speak, whether happy or sad, whether up or down, and make the desires of our heart known to Him.

May we be ever conscious of how our words help to shape those things around and within us.
