Blessed

Happy Easter, everyone.

“And Thomas answered to Him, “My Lord and My God!”  Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed,” John 20:28-29.

Blessed?

As Jesus showed Himself, specifically for Thomas, Thomas exclaimed calling Jesus Lord [possessing sovereign authority and unlimited jurisdiction] and God [only God can die and live to tell about it].  After that, Jesus declared that those who believe and have not seen are blessed. Go In Peace

In peace?

“Then He said to the woman, ‘your faith has saved you.  Go in peace,” Luke 7:50.

The reach of Jesus’ grace is immeasurable.  He knowingly gave us the gift of salvation while we did not deserve it.  He knowingly strengthens and blesses us though we cannot do anything to earn it.  By our faith, and that alone, are we saved. Continue reading “Go In Peace”

Popping Prince and Greenteck exchange pleasantries during their tournament battle.

This was a really good battle. I especially enjoyed the exchange between the two after Greenteck’s second round. It was great seeing the crowd, and judges, have energy.

A really good battle.

Pray Anxiety Away

Anxiety?

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God,” Philippians 4:6.

Be anxious for nothing…

There are many things that can cause us anxiety; work, relationships, and the fear of unknowns are just a few.   Having negative responses to these, such as worry and doubt, are the exact opposite of how we are to act according to God’s will. Continue reading “Pray Anxiety Away”

Which Quarterback Should the Houston Texans Sign?

Who should the Houston Texans sign as their quarterback for the 2017 season?

I absolutely hate the Texans but I am going to be professional about this topic.  Many people have foolishly suggested that the Texans are team that is a quarterback away from making a run at the Super Bowl.  Why is that a popular thought?  I have no clue.  I am about 84% sure that the Texans will not be the AFC South’s champion this season, regardless of who they sign.

There was also thought that they would sign Tony Romo after he was released from the Dallas Cowboys, but Romo apparently has other plans.  Could he be so savage as to go to television instead of signing with the Texans?  It seems that way.

So who should Houston sign?  I’m glad you asked.  Here are my four suggestions of quarterbacks that the Texans should take a look at. Continue reading “Which Quarterback Should the Houston Texans Sign?”

NBA Regular Season MVP: James Harden or Russell Westbrook?

Harden or Westbrook?

Surely Kawhi Leonard (26 ppg and 6 rpg), Isaiah Thomas (29.1 ppg), and LeBron James (26 ppg, 8.5 rpg, and 8.8 apg) are in the mix, but the Maurice Podoloff Trophy is going to either James Harden or Russell Westbrook.  Both are putting up amazing statistics this year so choosing either candidate is highly justified.

Until now.

Here is the correct answer… the MVP is Russell Westbrook.

This Day in Romans: 13 July 2016

Romans 13:13-14

“Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. / But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

These two verses make me think of the 5Ws for our walk with Christ through this journey called life: the who, what, when, where, and why.  Who are we allowing to lead us, God or man?  What purpose are we trying to fulfill?  When do we praise God; before, during, or after the blessings?  Where is God’s will on our list of priorities?  Why are we able to love in the first place? Continue reading “This Day in Romans: 13 July 2016”

This Day in Romans: 12 July 2016

Romans 12:18-19

“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. / Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

One of the major goals that we should have is to live in peace.  Our human nature allows for us to have a resounding choice in how we choose to live.  We are the ones who choose what is important to us.  Here we are told that as long as it is possible, we should have peace be at the top of the list.
